SHOW DA CUFA

It is a project of the Central Única das Favelas (CUFA) and Favela Holding, in collaboration with TV Globo, the municipalities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, FM O Dia, Eletromidia, and with the support of Bet Nacional.

The initiative was created with the goal of offering free concerts by renowned artists to interact with residents of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo once a month. The concerts will take place in 2023 and 2024 and will have an interactive format, allowing residents to decide whether they wish to attend. A petition is being promoted to encourage attendees to express their interest in the event.

In addition to the musical performances, a team of instructors from CUFA will offer courses in event production and audiovisual production in the favelas hosting the shows. This way, residents can participate directly in the event, either by co-producing it or filming it for a documentary. This learning experience represents an important legacy for the artists.

This type of event is not new for the institution. In Christmas 2000, CUFA organized the first major musical concert in Brazil inside a favela, featuring some of the biggest names in Brazilian music. This milestone marked the beginning of a series of shows that became an essential part of CUFA's identity.
